The board considers it important that donors, volunteers and other interested parties have a clear insight into the functioning of the Foundation. This is why it publishes a financial statement and an annual report every year. The policy plan is also published online. Kuychi is a registered charity (ANBI 813699435).
Policy and accountability
In the 2015 policy plan, the board is accountable for the policy it carries out. In it, it outlines its vision for the period up until 2020, the challenges it faces for the coming years, and the risks and opportunities/solutions. The board is also completely transparent about its financial management.
The board is for example, working on creating a stable management for the project in Peru, which consists of local professionals. From the very beginning, Helena van Engelen has been the driving force behind the project, but as she grows older, she realises the need to take a step back. To this end, the daily running of the project has been assumed by the Dutch/Peruvian couple Erika and Haiko Beeren.
In terms of attracting financial resources, the boards of Kuychi and Niños del Arco Iris continue to work on shifting the emphasis Netherlands-based funds to a self-supporting het project in Peru. Additionally, the board sees opportunities to make the existing hotel accommodation on the project site more commercial.
Annual reports and financial statements
Every year the Kuychi board publishes its Annual Report. The board of Niños del Arco Iris publishes an annual report and financial statements. These contain complete accountability concerning the financial management carried out, and a report is made of the developments.
